Uchisar is the summit of Cappadocia. But at the same time Uchisar is the gate of Cappadocia.
This small town is located 7 km. east of Nevsehir, 12 km. west of Urgup and 10 km south of Avanos. With the distance of 80 km to Kayseri, Aksaray and Nigde it is also located at the center of Great Cappadocia.
Uçhisar is the most original village of the Cappadocian region. The many old Greek houses, the small stone roads, the mosques in between and the urban village life around this highest mountain place of Cappadocia are topped by a unique rock castle, the most famous cave formation in the area.
